Figma launches 'Figma Live Studio' for synchronous cross-timezone ideation

Live Studio gives teams a persistent project room where designers, product managers and engineers can co-edit prototypes, sketch flows and capture decisions in a single timeline. It pairs real-time editing with a replay function and time-indexed comments so remote collaborators can jump in at any point.

A notable addition is an AI assistant that summarizes sessions, highlights unresolved decisions and generates follow-up tasks directly in popular PM tools. Figma says the system balances live presence with persistent context so teams don’t need to schedule synchronous sessions for every checkpoint.

The product is rolling out to enterprise customers this quarter, with an initial focus on strengthening cross-team governance: role-based session controls, session transcripts and automated version snapshots. Pricing will be part of Figma's enterprise tier.

Design leaders told SatisfiedUser they expect Live Studio to cut meeting time and reduce context-switching, though they'll be watching how teams handle automated decision logs and whether the AI summaries create reliance on algorithmic interpretation of design intent.
