Figma launches 'Insights Mode' powered by on-prem API for design ops

Insights Mode inspects components, tokens, and interactions inside Figma teams and surfaces prioritized remediation suggestions like inconsistent token names, orphaned components, and missing accessibility labels. Importantly, Figma offers an on-premises connector for companies to keep telemetry and artifacts behind their firewalls.

The feature leverages a set of model-backed heuristics for semantic similarity detection and UI anti-pattern identification, returning fixes packaged as pull-requests for component libraries. Teams can accept changes or adjust rules and re-run audits.

Adoption signals show design operations teams appreciate the automated triage, though some smaller shops find the on-prem setup complex. Figma said it will provide hosted options for SMBs while continuing enterprise deployment support.
