Figma launches offline-first desktop with delta sync and local history

Figma's offline-first desktop introduces a local editing engine with delta-sync and conflict resolution that queues changes when disconnected and reconciles with the cloud on reconnection. Local history stores change snapshots so designers can travel and continue work reliably.
The client also compresses deltas to reduce bandwidth and exposes a visual conflict resolution UI when concurrent edits diverge. Teams can opt into selective sync for large projects, keeping only active files local to save disk space.
For designers, the update reduces friction during flights or unstable Wi-Fi and improves perceived performance. Figma says teams using the beta reported faster save times and fewer merge rollbacks during heavy co-editing sessions.
