Figma Launches Vector AI Assistant for Layout Suggestions
Design · 3 min read
Figma's new Vector AI Assistant scans open files and offers contextual suggestions such as responsive breakpoints, spacing alignment, and contrast adjustments. Unlike third-party plugins, it leverages live component data and design tokens to keep suggestions in sync with a project's design system.
The assistant can propose migration paths to tokens, generate accessible color palettes, and preview interaction changes across breakpoints. Designers can accept, tweak, or reject suggestions with a single click, and accepted changes are recorded as named commits in the version history.
Figma also introduced a private-integration framework so enterprises can host the inference engine inside their VPCs. The company says it prioritized deterministic outputs to avoid surprising diffs in collaborative files.
