Figma launches VectorFlow: parametric vector editor with real-time constraints

VectorFlow adds a parametric layer on top of Figma's vector tools, allowing designers to define geometric constraints and equations that keep assets responsive across different sizes. Designers can pin anchors to components, set proportional relationships, and use named variables for consistent padding and stroke scaling.

The feature also supports live preview and collaborative param edits, so multiple team members can adjust constraints without breaking the vector structure. Figma says VectorFlow reduces the manual rework required when adapting icons for different breakpoints and automates routine tasks such as stroke normalization and corner smoothing.

Third-party plugin makers get access to the VectorFlow API, enabling automatic conversion of legacy SVG libraries into parametric formats. Early adopters in product teams report significant time savings on icon libraries and improved consistency across design systems.
