Figma launches Workspace SDK for plugin orchestration and team-level automation

The Workspace SDK acts as a control plane for plugins and automation within Figma. Admins can declare plugin policies, schedule linting and accessibility audits, and trigger transformations across multiple files. The SDK exposes APIs for orchestrating plugin runs and collecting results centrally.

Automation templates include token synchronization, file cleanup, and accessibility checks. Teams can build workflows that enforce design system rules and notify stakeholders when violations are detected, helping maintain UI consistency at scale.

Design leads welcomed the SDK because it brings automation parity with engineering CI/CD practices. Figma also provided audit logs and role-based permissions to ensure changes are traceable and compliant for larger organizations.
