Figma multiplayer gets regionalized edge routing and voice collaboration

Figma's network update routes real-time collaboration traffic through nearby edges, reducing lag for global teams and improving cursor and selection synchronization. For enterprise customers, Figma offers dedicated regional tenancy to meet data residency needs.

The new voice collaboration feature embeds lightweight conferencing with push-to-talk and spatial audio for large design critiques and workshops. Voice cues are tied to cursors and frames so participants can jump to the area being discussed.

Design teams appreciated smoother synchronous sessions and fewer conflicts when working across timezones. Figma confirmed additional controls for bandwidth prioritization in low-connectivity scenarios will arrive later this year.
