Figma Plugin 'VoiceFlow' Lets Designers Prototype Speech-First Interfaces with Built-In Accessibility Checks

VoiceFlow adds a conversational canvas to Figma files where designers can map intents, turn-taking patterns, and recovery behaviors. The plugin includes an accessibility panel that flags issues such as overly long responses, ambiguous follow-ups, and missing confirmation steps—common failures that harm users relying on speech interaction.

The accessibility checks reference standards from the Conversational UX Community Group and include heuristics for pacing, redundancy, and grammar simplicity. Designers can export interaction specs and an accessibility report that developers use to configure speech SDKs and edge-case fallbacks.

Early testers appreciated the ability to simulate degraded audio and see how the dialogue flows handle interruptions. The team behind VoiceFlow said the next release will add support for multilingual prompt testing and integration with screen reader simulators to evaluate multimodal experiences.
