Figma releases generative-asset pipeline to convert vector sketches into responsive components

The pipeline accepts hand-drawn or rough vector inputs and normalizes geometry into design-system-friendly components, attaching variant states, tokens, and responsive rules. It uses a model trained on open-source component libraries and high-quality design systems to infer naming and variant structures.
Designers can tweak inferred tokens and states and then publish the result to their team libraries. The system offers an 'explain decisions' pane that lists why particular tokens or variants were chosen, intended to help teams keep components consistent.
Figma is rolling this out gradually to workspace tenants with early access for teams that have active design systems. The company positions the tool as a way to reduce repetitive work and lower the barrier for non-designers to produce consistent UI elements.
