Figma rolls out AI-assisted interaction states and token suggestions

Figma announced an in-app AI assistant that analyzes flagged components and suggests interaction states, microcopy, motion easing, and token sets. Designers can accept suggestions with a single click, apply them across component instances, or adjust parameters in a compact side panel.

Under the hood, Figma uses a proprietary model fine-tuned on anonymized design files and motion patterns to predict likely states and timing values. The assistant also flags accessibility issues like contrast or missing focus indicators and proposes remediations.

The update is available to Enterprise customers first, with a staged rollout for other plans. Some teams applaud the time savings, while others caution against overreliance on default motion choices and recommend preserving design intent clarity in documentation.
