Figma rolls out Live Component States and Vector Auto-Layout 2.0

Figma's Live Component States allow designers to define and preview multiple interactive states directly on components without duplicating frames. The feature includes simple state transitions, state-scoped overrides, and built-in accessibility checks for keyboard and focus order.
Vector Auto-Layout 2.0 overhauls how vector shapes participate in responsive layouts: shapes can now stretch, compress, or preserve ratios based on contextual constraints. The update simplifies responsive iconography and symbol libraries, and reduces the need for multiple breakpoints.
Figma also released developer-friendly changelogs and a plugin API extension to expose state metadata to design handoff tools. Teams we spoke to said these updates shorten the time from static mock to working prototype, especially for complex component libraries.
