Figma Ships AutoLayout Pro with Contextual Constraints and Microflows

Figma's AutoLayout Pro builds on its long-standing Auto Layout system by adding contextual constraints that adapt based on sibling content and container intent. Designers can set high-level rules (e.g., ‘preserve visual weight’) and let Figma resolve spacing and alignment dynamically as content changes.

Microflows are a second pillar of the update: small, reusable mini-logic blocks that express interactions and content-driven adjustments without writing code. Microflows let designers define conditional layout behavior—like collapsing, wrapping, or priority-resizing—across breakpoints and nested components.

The update is rolling out in staged beta to enterprise accounts this week with a public release slated for Q3. Figma says AutoLayout Pro reduces manual overrides by up to 60% in internal tests, and it includes analytics to show when designers lean on microflows versus manual edits.
