Figma unveils Real-Time Code Inspect and AI-assisted accessibility audits

Figma released an update that integrates a Real-Time Code Inspect feature, showing production-ready CSS, SwiftUI, and Jetpack Compose snippets as components are modified. The goal is to tighten the loop between designers and engineers by surfacing executable code alongside visual changes.

Alongside code inspection, the company introduced an AI-assisted accessibility auditing tool that flags potential color-contrast violations, improper tab order, and missing ARIA roles. The audit runs interactively and provides suggested fixes which can be applied in one click or exported as a remediation checklist.

Figma also expanded plugin interoperability to allow third-party linting tools to write suggestions directly into the new inspection panel. Designers who previewed the feature reported significant time savings during handoffs and fewer iteration cycles with engineering.
