Figma updates: Generative components and real-time model tuning

Figma's latest release introduces generative components, a new layer type that can produce responsive UI variations based on content and intent. Designers can pin constraints and let the component generate alternatives for different breakpoints and copy lengths.

Alongside components, Figma launched a model tuning API that lets teams upload brand tokens and a small dataset to influence the tool's suggestions in real time. This is positioned as a way to keep generative suggestions aligned with design systems and accessibility goals.

Figma also improved its plugins ecosystem to support streaming outputs from in-house and third-party models, enabling live previews as models generate assets. The company emphasized privacy controls and workspace-level governance for teams adopting the features.
