Flux Studio launches Onyx — a macOS-native prototyping app and secures $8M

Onyx prioritizes frame-perfect animation controls, timeline-based interactions, and native GPU acceleration to deliver smooth previews and low-latency playback on macOS devices. Flux Studio built an export pipeline that outputs production-ready animation code for iOS and web frameworks, reducing handoff friction.

The company raised $8 million in seed funding led by Creative Labs to scale engineering and deepen integrations with developer toolchains. Flux Studio’s founder, Arjun Basu, emphasized that Onyx was designed for designers who need precise control over motion without leaving the macOS ecosystem.

Onyx offers versioned prototypes, developer-friendly exports, and a companion player app for remote usability sessions. The product is launching with a free trial and a pro subscription aimed at small studios and in-house teams.
