FoldUI raises $9M to launch adaptive layout engine for responsive design

FoldUI announced $9 million in seed financing from Elemental Ventures and launched its adaptive layout engine targeting product teams seeking smarter responsive UIs. The engine reflows components based on semantic content blocks rather than fixed breakpoints, aiming to preserve hierarchy and readability across screen sizes.

FoldUI uses a combination of constraint-solving and lightweight ML to decide when to collapse, re-order, or surface micro-interactions depending on available space. Designers can preview multiple adaptive states and annotate rules within their existing design systems.

The funds will go toward building plugins for major frontend frameworks and design tools, expanding template libraries, and improving autosuggestion models. FoldUI opens a public beta for product teams and offers an enterprise license for large design systems.
