Folio raises $12M to expand collaborative design editor 'Folio Studio' beyond beta

Folio Studio combines a lightweight vector editor, components library, and real-time collaboration tools that mirror developer workflows with versioning and branching. The company positions Studio as a faster, more modular alternative to monolithic design apps for product teams.
The $12 million funding round led by Constellation VC will go toward building enterprise-grade integrations (Figma, Git, Jira), expanding their design-system features, and hiring across product and customer success. Folio plans to introduce deeper developer handoff tools next quarter.
Folio emphasized performance on lower-power devices and a plugin architecture designed for third-party design tools and automation. They also announced an early-access program for agencies and in-house design teams to co-develop enterprise features.
Product-led growth metrics shared by Folio show rapid adoption among small teams; the company says the Series A will help mature billing, support, and compliance for larger deployments while keeping a generous free tier for individuals.
