Forge Design raises $14M and debuts Window — a remote usability testing kit with embedded cameras

Forge Design announced a $14 million seed round and launched Window, a remote usability testing kit that includes a compact camera array, depth sensor, and secure streaming software to capture user facial expressions, gaze direction, and hand movements during remote sessions. Window aims to give UX teams richer signals for remote moderated and unmoderated testing while ensuring participants’ data is encrypted and consent-managed.
The service provides AI-assisted session highlights, attention heatmaps, and an obfuscation mode to blur identifiable features when sharing clips. Integration with common usability platforms and project management tools allows teams to tag and export key moments into design sprints and bug trackers.
Funding will be used to scale manufacturing, expand international participant recruitment capabilities, and improve the analysis algorithms for cross-cultural expression interpretation. Forge Design frames Window as a way to bring lab-quality signals to distributed research workflows.
