ForgeRoot Raises $60M to Commercialize a Low-Code Game Engine
Gaming · 4 min read
ForgeRoot announced a $60 million Series B to grow its low-code game engine that emphasizes reusable gameplay modules, visual scripting, and cloud-native pipelines. The product aims to let designers and product managers prototype live-service features without deep engineering involvement.
The engine supports server-authoritative modules for matchmaking, progression and live events, plus hot-reloadable assets for continuous delivery. ForgeRoot highlights integrations with analytics and monetization platforms used by mid-market studios.
Some veteran engineers worried about abstraction leakage for complex AAA systems, but many small studios saw it as a way to accelerate MVPs and reduce dev cycles. ForgeRoot plans certification tracks to help studios understand when to migrate modules to native code.
Proceeds will fund tooling for scalability, middleware partnerships, and an incubator program for indie teams building live-service pilots on the platform.
