Forma raises $20M to build generative product photography for e-commerce brands

Forma announced a $20 million Series A to accelerate its generative product photography platform, which synthesizes photorealistic images of products under varied lighting, materials, and backgrounds. The company aims to reduce costly physical photoshoots through automated image generation and consistency controls.
Brands can upload a few catalog shots or 3D models and Forma will produce complete hero shots, lifestyle images, and 360-degree views, matching brand style guides and accessibility guidelines like color-contrast for product text overlays. The platform includes a review flow for legal and compliance checks on simulated imagery.
Forma plans to use the capital to expand dataset licensing, improve material-aware rendering, and add integrations with commerce platforms and PIMs. The company is positioning itself as a substitute for last-mile photo retouching workflows.
