FrameForge secures $8M to ship a plugin that turns design systems into interactive prototypes

FrameForge, a design tooling startup, announced an $8 million pre-Series A led by Studio Ventures and released its first plugin that automates the conversion of design-system artifacts into interactive prototypes. The plugin syncs with design tokens, story files, and component libraries to produce exportable prototypes that developers can run locally or in staging.

The plugin emphasizes fidelity for edge interactions like drag-to-reorder, haptics, and accessibility behaviors, which FrameForge says are often lost in handoffs. Designers can preview code-level behaviors while maintaining the visual language, reducing ambiguity between design and engineering.

Funds will go toward improving code generation fidelity, building collaboration features for cross-team reviews, and extending integrations to popular frameworks like React Native and Solid. Early customers report a 40 percent reduction in design-to-dev iteration cycles.
