FrameLab raises $18M to scale generative layout system for product designers

FrameLab, a YC-backed design startup, announced an $18 million Series A to commercialize an AI-driven layout engine that converts high-level art direction into responsive, accessible UI systems. The funding round was led by Pixel Partners, with participation from two design-focused angels.

The core product uses a diffusion-style model trained on millions of licensed UI patterns to propose grid systems, spacing scales, and color contrast-aware typography that designers can accept, tweak, or reject. The company is pitching the tool as a timesaver for product teams needing consistent design systems across platforms.

FrameLab will use the funds to build collaboration features—real-time co-editing and Figma/Sketch plugins—and to expand its accessibility auditing capabilities, promising WCAG compliance recommendations baked into every layout suggestion.
