Framer 2026.2 adds native mobile preview and offline prototyping for distributed teams

Framer 2026.2 introduces native preview apps for iOS and Android that cache prototypes, assets, and interactions for offline playback. Designers can run high-fidelity prototypes on devices without latency from network drops and record local session logs for usability testing. The preview apps support live logs of touch events and frame-by-frame performance stats so teams can diagnose interaction jank during moderated tests.
Offline prototypes sync back to the cloud the next time the device connects. Framer handles conflict resolution by presenting merged timelines and offering designers an option to accept or revert offline changes. This is particularly helpful for field research and in-office sessions where Wi‑Fi is unreliable or intentionally disabled for testing.
For handoff, Framer added tighter metadata exports to popular dev environments, including annotated animation timelines for Lottie and Flutter. The company also introduced SDKs that let engineering teams consume Framer's interaction models directly, reducing the manual recreation of micro-interactions. Product teams juggling cross-timezone reviews say the offline capability reduces friction and preserves context even when stakeholders can't be online simultaneously.
