Framer adds Motion AI: auto-keyframe generation for interactive prototypes
Design · 4 min read
Framer's Motion AI analyzes component structure and user flows to generate suggested keyframes, easing curves, and transition durations that match platform conventions. Designers can select a component and receive multiple animation variants—subtle, expressive, or functional—each with editable timelines.
The tool supports cross-platform presets (iOS, Android, Web) and exports animation data as Lottie, CSS, or raw keyframe sets for engineers. Motion AI also includes a temporal preview that lets teams watch animations in context with live data or stubbed responses.
Framer says Motion AI is designed to reduce the time spent hand-crafting micro-interactions and to standardize motion across product surfaces. The feature is available to all Pro and Enterprise customers and comes with an analytics dashboard tracking animation acceptance rates in handoffs.
