Framer AI Workspace launches collaborative design agents and diff-aware versioning

Framer's AI Workspace allows designers to invite AI agents into project files where agents can suggest variants, propose responsive tweaks, and auto-generate micro-interactions. Agents operate with team permissions and can be muted or limited to suggestion-only mode.

A diff-aware versioning system records AI-generated changes separately so teams can review, accept, or revert suggestions with granular control. The system annotates each change with the prompt used and a confidence score, making AI contributions traceable for audits.

Framer also expanded its plugin API to allow agencies and teams to create custom agents trained on proprietary design systems. The company says this helps maintain brand fidelity while tapping AI productivity gains.
