Framer debuts Live Components with embedded AI logic
Design · 3 min read
Live Components are authored in Framer but run inside prototypes: designers can add small AI triggers—such as content summarization, personalization rules, or data-based layout swaps—that execute during previews. This allows richer demos for stakeholders without needing a backend integration.
The embedded logic is sandboxed and supports calls to popular model providers as well as offline behaviors for deterministic interactions. Framer also offers templates for common patterns like localized copy, responsive image selection, and name-based personalization.
Product teams report that Live Components help align PMs, designers, and engineers early in the process by creating more faithful prototypes. Framer is extending its API so development teams can convert Live Components to production-ready code using framework-specific exporters.
