Framer Introduces 'Auto-Props'—AI-Driven Responsive Component Generation
Design · 4 min read
Framer launched Auto-Props, a feature where designers select a component and the system proposes a complete prop sheet with types, responsive rules and default states. The model analyzes visual cues and naming conventions to suggest properties like min-width, truncation rules and localization hints.
Auto-Props can generate preview permutations across device sizes and produce a changelog of suggested edits when a designer modifies a component. The system also offers one-click export of props to code frameworks such as React Native and Vue.
Framer added guardrails to avoid over-authoring: designers decide which suggested props to accept, and accepted changes become part of the project's design system. The company plans to add team analytics showing which props are most frequently customized across projects.
