Framer announced GenLayout, a feature that generates a set of responsive templates from one master frame plus a short textual brief describing goals and content hierarchy. Each generated template includes editable constraints for columns, spacing, and breakpoints so developers can refine behavior without rebuilding layouts.

GenLayout also suggests token sets for spacing and typography and can export variants to component libraries. The underlying models were trained on Framer projects and public web layouts to learn practical responsive patterns.

Designers say GenLayout is useful for early-stage exploration and for onboarding less experienced teams, though some warn that generated solutions can obscure nuanced layout decisions and still require manual tuning for complex accessibility needs.
