Framer introduces 'Responsive Prototyper' powered by a chained diffusion model

Framer rolled out Responsive Prototyper, a capability that extrapolates desktop designs into tablet and mobile frames using a chained diffusion pipeline that preserves visual hierarchy and component semantics. The pipeline runs sequentially: layout extraction, responsive reflow, and interaction sketching, producing annotated frames designers can edit.

Framer emphasizes the feature's collaborative focus—generated frames include a confidence map and suggested micro-interactions, and team reviewers can accept or edit suggestions inline. The tool also outputs a change log describing transformation rules applied to each component.

While reviewers praised faster handoffs to developers, some cautioned about edge cases where automated reflows misinterpret context-heavy components like custom charts. Framer plans to add an explainability panel showing why particular reflows were chosen.
