Framer launches DesignOps plugin framework for code-free microservices

DesignOps introduces composable blocks — microservices that can fetch data, transform it, and present it as components inside Framer. Blocks include connectors to APIs, content transformers, and validation steps. Designers can assemble blocks visually and share them across projects, reducing repetitive integration work and improving design-developer alignment.

The framework supports secure keys and environment separation so teams can test with mock data and swap to production endpoints without changing layouts. Framer also launched a marketplace for curated blocks, with first-party offerings for analytics-driven content, CMS connectors, and A/B test wiring.

Product teams said the biggest win is faster prototyping with production-like data. By enabling non-engineers to configure data flows and transforms, Framer hopes to cut handoff time and increase iteration velocity. The company also published best practices for governance and dependency management of shared blocks.
