Framer launches Pair: real-time AI code assistant integrated into design preview
Tech · 5 min read
Pair listens to interactions in Framer's preview and can output React components, CSS modules or Tailwind-ready classes that reflect the visual layout and interaction states. It also surfaces inline comments explaining accessibility attributes and layout heuristics used in the generated code.
Collaboration is enhanced: designers can accept suggested code snippets into a synchronized repository and invite developers to iterate directly on the generated artifacts. Pair supports image optimization and asset exports tuned for different viewports.
Framer emphasized that Pair is meant to accelerate routine tasks, not replace developers. Teams testing Pair reported fewer back-and-forths on padding, breakpoints and animation timing, but recommended code reviews to ensure the generated output matches long-term architecture and performance needs.
