Framer updates: AI-assisted prototyping and Sketch import fidelity improvements

Framer’s new AI assistant analyzes component structure and suggests prototyped interactions like entrance animations, hover states, and microcopy. Designers can accept, tweak, or reject suggestions directly on the canvas, which reduces repetitive animation setup for common patterns.

The company also fixed long-standing fidelity issues with Sketch imports, preserving nested symbols, constraints and layer effects with higher accuracy. This makes migrating legacy Sketch files into Framer more viable for teams modernizing their tooling stack.

Framer added an “interaction presets” library generated from real product patterns, and the assistant learns from accepted presets to better tailor future recommendations for a project. The update focuses on reducing time-to-interactive for prototypes and smoothing cross-tool migration.
