FrameShift raises $7M and launches lightweight AR prototyping tool

FrameShift launched a lightweight, web-based AR prototyping tool that allows designers to craft spatial interactions and test them on devices via QR-code deployment. The tool focuses on speed—assemble interactions from reusable primitives and export interaction specs consumable by developers.

The startup closed a $7 million seed round led by Zenith Labs to grow partnerships with headset vendors and add features like hand-tracking presets and persistent spatial anchors. FrameShift’s approach targets cross-disciplinary teams that need rapid iteration without a full-engine pipeline.

Current adopters include retail designers prototyping AR shopping experiences and enterprise teams testing training overlays. FrameShift plans to add collaborative editing and stronger export formats that integrate with Unity and WebXR projects.
