Designers identified three focus areas: reduce decision load, improve status clarity, and speed up default actions.
The redesign introduced a streamlined quick-respawn path that preserved advanced options behind a secondary panel, clarified countdowns with more prominent visual timers, and implemented predictive loadout defaults based on recent choices and match role. Microcopy and affordances were adjusted so the game communicated consequences without stopping momentum.
A/b testing across regions tracked average time-to-rejoin and rate of immediate disconnection after death. Results showed a 35% reduction in rejoin time and a 9% drop in match abandonment. User interviews with competitive players praised the faster flow and the option to still access deeper customization when time allowed.
