GitHub Copilot adds Figma plugin to sync code and design components

The Copilot Figma plugin can read component structure and generate scaffolded React, Angular, or Vue components, including props, state hooks, and type definitions. Conversely, it can ingest component code from a repository and suggest syncable Figma components, aligning names and tokens.
The tool highlights divergences with a visual diff and provides one-click updates for keeping stories, docs, and Figma assets in sync. Teams can configure sync rules and set protected branches or design tokens that must be reviewed by maintainers before being applied.
GitHub is positioning this as part of an integrated developer-designer workflow and will roll out enterprise controls and audit logs for larger organizations. Early users say the plugin improved velocity for feature launches that require tight design-engineering coordination.
