GitHub Copilot for Designers extends to Adobe XD and Sketch with asset-aware suggestions
Tech · 4 min read
GitHub announced an expansion of Copilot for Designers with new plugins for Adobe XD and Sketch. The integrations surface asset-aware suggestions that output both design edits and corresponding code stubs (CSS, accessible HTML, or React components) in the same panel.
The plugins analyze component libraries and generate code that maps to existing classes and tokens, minimizing mismatch between design files and the codebase. Teams can accept, tweak, or reject suggestions, with Copilot learning from accepted patterns to improve future recommendations.
GitHub emphasized collaboration use cases: designers can leave suggested code directly in the file for engineers to review, reducing context switching. The extensions are available to Copilot Teams subscribers and include admin controls for third-party model access.
