GitHub Copilot for Designers previews live prototypes from prompts
Tech · 4 min read
Copilot for Designers reads annotated frames and natural language instructions to assemble a clickable prototype with basic navigation, state changes and form behaviors. It generates a hosted preview and a code artifact (HTML/CSS/JS or framework-specific components) for engineering consumption.
The generated prototypes include telemetry hooks that let teams run lightweight usability checks and track click-through rates on generated flows. GitHub emphasizes the tool's ability to reduce misunderstanding during reviews by offering interactive, runnable artifacts rather than static screenshots.
Copilot for Designers is currently in beta for enterprise customers and integrates with GitHub Issues and Projects to create tasks from prototype changes. The company says it will add guardrails to prevent leaking proprietary content through hosted previews.
