Glimmer raises $40M and launches SceneGPT for automated in-game cinematics

SceneGPT interprets narrative directions to generate camera paths, framing, and timing, producing editable sequences that game directors can refine in-engine. The system outputs native timeline assets compatible with popular engines and supports character blocking, crowd choreography, and sound cues.

Glimmer secured $40 million in Series A funding from Horizon Interactive and PlayForge Ventures to scale model training, cinematic asset libraries, and real-time preview tooling. The CEO mentioned that the capital will also support developer support for AAA pipelines.

Studios piloting SceneGPT report faster iteration on story beats and reduced reliance on expensive mocap shoots for certain sequences. Glimmer plans a staggered rollout: core cinematic generation tools this quarter and advanced director-assist features in early 2027.
