Glyph launches a generative typography engine for responsive brands
Design · 4 min read
Glyph launched Foundry, a tool that generates responsive typographic systems using variable font tech and algorithmic scaling. Foundry lets brand teams define a voice—e.g., "authoritative" or "playful"—and then produces a family of variable fonts and scale tokens optimized for legibility and rhythm across devices.
Foundry integrates with design systems to export tokenized type scales, spacing rules tied to line-length, and CSS-ready variable-font packs. Designers can preview typographic behavior in real layouts and iterate on optical sizing curves without hand-tuning multiple static styles.
Glyph plans to use revenue from the launch to build pre-qualified font foundations from type foundries and provide licensing workflows so enterprises can manage font distribution across platforms. Agencies adopting Foundry say it reduced the number of bespoke type adjustments required per breakpoint.
