Glyph raises $9.5M to commercialize tactile controller for console indie studios

The Glyph controller maps touch, pressure and micro-gesture inputs to nuanced in-game actions, enabling developers to craft richer tactile experiences without specialized hardware. The development kit includes SDKs for Unity and Unreal plus middleware that translates tactile data into standardized input events.

Foundry Group and Play Ventures co-led the round, joined by a collection of developer-focused angels. Proceeds will be used to scale manufacturing, expand SDK support and seed partnerships with several independent studios for launch titles.

Glyph's early demos showed improved immersion in rhythm and narrative-driven games. The startup plans to offer a runtime that allows designers to author haptic profiles visually, lowering the barrier for teams without dedicated haptics engineers.
