GlyphWorks raises $18M to scale type-driven design system platform

GlyphWorks’ platform enforces typographic scales, establishes modular type systems and generates platform-ready CSS and native font metrics. Teams can define editorial constraints and see live previews across breakpoints and device sizes.

The new capital will fund engineering to build IDE plugins, tighter integration with component frameworks and a hosted token registry for distributed teams. The company says customers report fewer visual regressions and faster developer handoffs.

Series A was led by Foundry Partners with participation from a major design tool company. GlyphWorks will also launch a certification program for design system maintainers and expand their library of accessible type pairs.
