Google announces Gemini Studio: low-code multimodal model builder for enterprise apps
AI · 6 min read
Gemini Studio combines Google's Gemini family models with a visual pipeline builder that lets product teams assemble multimodal agents that handle text, image, and video inputs. Connectors for BigQuery, Drive, Cloud Storage and common enterprise CRMs are built-in, allowing teams to prototype data-driven assistants in hours rather than months.
Studio supports lightweight fine-tuning and instruction-tuning workflows with automated safety checks, lineage tracking and labeled data management. It also adds 'scenario testing' — a test harness where teams can run simulated user sessions across different contexts and measure behavior, latency, and hallucination rates before deployment.
For governance, Google integrated role-based access, audit logs, and a 'guardrail policy studio' where compliance teams can define constraints on responses and enforce redaction rules. Product managers and designers praised the low-code approach for making experimentation accessible, while enterprise AI teams welcomed the emphasis on observability.
