Google Play introduces Game Controller SDK 2.0 and cloud save sync

The Game Controller SDK 2.0 standardizes input mapping across a wider range of controllers and offers profiling APIs so developers can provide custom mappings per title. It also exposes haptic and adaptive trigger features where supported, with runtime fallbacks for legacy hardware.
Separately, Google Play Games SDK now offers first-party cloud save sync that can persist save states across devices and restore them when a player signs into their Google account. The service supports incremental checkpoints and delta uploads to reduce bandwidth for large game state artifacts.
Google provided sample integrations for Unity and Unreal, and Play Console includes diagnostics to test controller compatibility and sync health. The combination of controller standardization and cloud save aims to reduce friction for casual and AAA titles on Android.
