Google releases Gemini Design DSL for declarative UI generation
Tech · 5 min read
Gemini Design DSL allows designers to define layout intent, accessibility constraints, and branding rules in a concise syntax. The Gemini model compiles DSL specifications into platform-specific code (React, SwiftUI, Compose) while preserving token mappings and localization hooks.
Google highlights the DSL's accessibility-first defaults and theming capabilities: designers can define responsive scaling rules, dynamic type behaviors, and color contrast policies that the compiler enforces across targets. The toolchain includes previewers and linters for alignment and spacing consistency.
Early adopters appreciated the speed of producing targeted prototypes that developers could integrate quickly. Google plans to open the DSL specification and invite community feedback for wider ecosystem adoption.
