Google Reveals Gemini Canvas: LLM-Powered Interaction Design Tool

Gemini Canvas integrates a behavior model that can simulate users across persona profiles and environmental constraints, allowing designers to ask for flows like ‘a first-time user on mobile in low-connectivity.’ The system returns annotated flows, suggested copy edits, and wireframe-level screens compatible with common design tools.

Google’s announcement highlights integration with Material Design components and accessibility checks that flag contrast, touch target sizes, and screen-reader labels. Designers can iterate on a persona and immediately re-run simulations to see how flows diverge.

Gemini Canvas is being trialed with partners and will expand through a Workspace add-on later this year. Google says data from simulated sessions will not be used to train public Gemini models without explicit enterprise opt-in.
