Google updates Android Studio to support low-code Compose templates and live collaboration

The latest Android Studio release introduces low-code Jetpack Compose templates that scaffold common UI patterns with editable tokens, accessibility guidance, and sample states. Designers can tweak tokens in a visual panel while engineers see the generated Compose code in real time.

A live collaboration feature allows two or more participants to co-edit Compose files with synchronized preview playback and shared device emulation. The session can be exported as a Figma-compatible prototype package so handoff remains frictionless.

Android Studio's templates are open-sourced as community modules so organizations can publish and share their own design systems. Google highlighted improved linting and integration with Firebase for rapid prototyping.
