Google Workspace embeds Gemini Mini for contextual drafting and summary suggestions

The integrated Gemini Mini models help users draft emails, meeting notes, and summaries that are context-aware — pulling from the document, meeting transcript, and calendar metadata. The feature can extract action items, assign tentative owners, and suggest next steps, streamlining post-meeting workflows.

Google added tenant-level privacy settings that let admins control which organizational data the models may access and whether generated content can be stored. For regulated industries, Workspace offers options to confine processing to regional data centers.

Design teams reported the drafting suggestions speed up early-stage writing and ideation, but warned about overreliance. Google emphasized that outputs are suggestions that require human review and provided new audit logs for AI-generated content.
