GreenGrid debuts SolarTile roof product and raises $95M to scale manufacturing and financing

SolarTile is a low-profile photovoltaic tile designed to match common roof profiles with snap-fit mounting and integrated microinverters. GreenGrid says the tiles can be installed in hours rather than days and support incremental deployment, allowing homeowners to add tiles over time.

The $95 million capital infusion will fund factory expansion, inventory for pilot regions, and a financing arm to offer lease and loan products for homeowners. GreenGrid is partnering with regional installers and a home-improvement chain to accelerate distribution and training programs.

GreenGrid plans to introduce a warranty and recycling program to manage end-of-life tiles and aims to hit 100,000 installed households within two years. The company highlighted that its backend analytics will optimize tile output and predict maintenance needs to reduce lifecycle costs.
