GreenGrid secures $60M to launch edge battery management product for data centers

GreenGrid announced a $60 million Series B and the commercial release of EdgeCharge Manager, which combines battery hardware telemetry, workload-aware charge scheduling, and predictive maintenance for distributed edge sites. The platform optimizes when and how batteries are used to minimize grid draw and extend battery life.

EdgeCharge Manager integrates with site controllers and cloud orchestration platforms to shift non-critical compute during peak grid pricing and to coordinate charge patterns across geo-distributed fleets. The system includes an analytics dashboard for battery health, FOTA (firmware over-the-air), and alerting.

Investors cited the rapid growth of edge compute and the need for local resiliency as driving demand. The funding will expand manufacturing partnerships for GreenGrid’s hardware modules and accelerate software features like AI-driven remaining useful life predictions.

Customers in telco and retail are piloting the system to ensure continuity during grid brownouts and to shave energy costs during peak hours. GreenGrid plans certification programs and an ecosystem of installers to support broader rollouts over the next year.
