GreenNode Launches Battery-as-a-Service Pilot for EV Fleets

GreenNode announced a pilot program offering swappable battery racks and a subscription energy service to last-mile delivery fleets. The company supplies standardized battery modules, swap stations, and a fleet dashboard that optimizes charging and thermal conditioning to maximize throughput.

The pilot includes partnerships with two regional couriers and integrates telematics to predict swap needs and avoid downtime. GreenNode claims the model can reduce total fleet electrification costs by lowering initial capex and ensuring batteries are maintained and recycled centrally.

CEO Ingrid Nwosu said the company plans to scale to major metropolitan regions and is courting OEMs for standardized swap interfaces. The pilot will gather operational metrics to refine swap cycles and lifecycle management practices.
